Trainerscampus

Trainerscampus

HC Eindhoven believes it is important that hockey is played with experience. This means that fun, combined with good hockey, is central.

A good trainer concept is important for the development of youth.

The common thread in the training is the KNHB training plan with the following steps:

  • Teaching children how to handle stick and ball safely.
  • Educating children in a safe and enjoyable way to play matches 3-3.
  • Teaching children how to play together safely and with great pleasure in matches 6-6 on a field of 25/50 meters (six hockey)
  • From basic formation k-1-3-3- (eight) on a ½ field to team hockey in basic formation k-1-3-3-3 on an entire field
  • Playing team hockey on an entire field

The association only has limited resources, so we appeal as much as possible to parents (with hockey experience) to provide training.

If there are no parents who are willing/able to take care of the training, players from the teams will be called upon.

We do require youth trainers to also participate in the trainer campus. In six practical meetings, attention is paid to the basic knowledge of training.

After all, not every good hockey player is a natural born trainer. The trainers receive an invitation from the training coordinators.

We also pay attention to trainers who have already completed the basic course. The further development of trainers is of great importance to raise the level of the teams and also to attract more trainers from your own association to the club.

The training coordinators are working on an action plan for practical guidance for the trainers of the cross-sectional teams and groups of three, six and eight.

This is further explained and explained during the trainer evenings through the goals for the coming period. Tips regarding providing training are also given. In addition to theory, the trainer evenings also cover some practice, the stated goals are then translated into practical examples on the field.
